These days, in countries like Mexico, addressing important topics that make elites, governments, and businesses uncomfortable can be deadly. The journalists at Avispa Midia work arduously to share every story of resistance that they can, but doing free and independent journalism has some expenses: technical equipment, transport, office spending, and the time necessary to put together the best reporting possible.

Our communication work is not commercial, and we don’t take advertising money. On the contrary, we are a media project that wants to increase the reach of our material by allowing distribution under a free license.

We have been nominated for the Index on Censorship prize for the quality of our work covering high-risk topics, and have also received recognition for our journalism in southern Mexico. We have completed dozens of investigative specials, autonomously and in partnership with other independent media organizations. With your support, we hope to continue this work.
